The association of European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) is looking for a Senior Technical Advisor, to take up the post from 1 October. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced manager to join the multicultural EIM team here in Brussels. The position involves managing technical dossiers and processes in connection with our activities for the European Railway Agency in the areas of Safety and Interoperability. The technical team collaborates with CER, UIC and other railway bodies to advance the development of a European interoperable railway system through optimised, joint investments in expertise and research projects.
The successful applicant will have/be:
• Good knowledge of the railway industry
• A proven record in managing technical and organisational complex projects to successful conclusions
• Excellent interpersonal and planning skills
• In depth knowledge of the process for developing TSI’s, safety specifications and EuroNorms
• Familiar with the development of technical specifications (should be able to assess the impact of draft specifications on the business of infrastructure managers)
• General knowledge of the state of development and implementation of European TSI’s
• (Preferred) knowledge of common safety methods, risk analysis and/or detailed knowledge of some of the TSIs
• Fluent in English and one other European language
• Self motivated team player, and team leader
